Samsung Starts DDR2-667 Production As Market Shifts

Samsung Electronics said Tuesday that it had begun production of 667-MHz DDR-2 memory, the next iteration in the memory speed race.
Samsung said it had begun shipping 256- and 512-Mbit DDR2-667 chips, which will be followed by a 1-Gbit chip later in the year. Combining eight of the chips together will enable 256-Mbyte and 512-Mbyte modules.
