I have the amd athlon 64 3000+ venice core at 2.0GHz on the asus k8v mboard.
One stick of kingston 512.
I would like some advice & some how-to, to go about trying to overlock this.
I had read in anoither forum that this cpu should be able to oc to 2.4/3GHz.
Help please from you gurus. :)

I don't mean in one step.
Baby steps of course.
I have OCed a bit once before so I know not to jump ahead like that.

Ok so I take it I was wrong in thinking I'd get help and/or advice from here then.

The socket 754 mobo/cpu is not known for overclocking ability. You would be lucky to get above 10%. The cpu you are probably refering to is the socket 939 athlon, although as buickgnx pointed out, the speeds you refer to are unrealistic.

Your board doesn't have AGP/PCI lock (I believe) which makes overclocking difficult. You may get to a HTT speed of 220 before things start locking up... maybe more if you have an Nvidia video card.
