paramount has the rights to star trek. the rumors are that the next star trek series and movie will take place after enterprise and before star trek.

I also read somewhere that they might do something with The next generation crew but nothing is confirmed yet....and that all depends when Patrick stewart is avaliable. Id like to see that, Nemisis was not one of the best Treks.

:)yeah it would be great to see a new next gen movie. :) i agree with you about nemesis. it's funny after the disapointing sales of insurection, they hired a new writer, john logan to revitalize the next gen movies. it had the opposite affect. they shouldn't have killed data. :( i also felt that riker should have been given command of the enterprise e after picard eventually retired or if the enterprise e was decommisioned, riker should have been given command of the enterprise f. :)

Thats where they made their mistake with nemesis was my friend they went and hired a director that knew nothing about Star trek at all ( I could tell by the script) . I watched that movie and about the only thing I liked about it was the special effects.

Money was the Big issue, alot of what they offered the Actors to return in that moive some of them said they felt insulted :)

I agree with you about Insurection it could have been done better, I also like first contact...... the next Star Trek series will all depend on how successful the next movie is

i look forward to whatever comes out. Nemesis wasn't a total disaster, just felt it was missing some things in the plot, insurrection was good but ya it was kinda lame, First COntact on the otherhand was amazing...

I wouldnt mind seeing an enterprise movie (TV based tho)

I wouldnt mind seeing an enterprise movie (TV based tho) that would be cool, but since the tv show failed, i don't think that paramount would want to risk more money. :(

IMO I think they gambled on Enterprise =\

enterprise grew on me considerably...

the episode where Tucker and Malcom are caught with only days to live with failing O2 compartments was really well done

Tpol's whole 'human' influence and not being so Vulcan is cool.

gamble, yes...... was it a bad series, heck no. they had great character dev

and the couple episodes where the federation is the 'EMPIRE' was amazing i loved that

For the records, Paramount has owned the StarTrek franchise for years and years. Nothing new.

They gambled a lot building their UPN TV stations and putting Enterprise on it only (played both on CityTV and UPN in Canada). It never worked. StarTrek:Deep Space Nine was a more boring series, but it was on ABC and had the audience to stay a couple of years. Had Enterprise been on ABC, it would've survived.

It was or whatever other major network that does not force you to subscribe to a "superstation" package. That's where UPN is and where ratings are bad. If the whole network itself has aweful ratings, how can one show with a sizable budget get ratings to attract advertising dollars? At least on a major network, prime time TV brings in good advertising dollars despite the show.

"Enterprise" was playing on UPN only, a network you can only get by subscribing to a package. DS9 was on a major network that you get freely via free-to-air or basic cable. Which one had the most reach for an audience? Not to mention that "Enterprise" was the only good show on UPN... People don't subscribe to a whole network just for one show.

I enjoyed Enterprise but they did way too many Time traveling episodes and too many episodes that started off with something really messed up happening and then the text "3 days ago" or along those lines.
I'd look forward to another Star Trek Movie as long as they don't listen to the fans, it can be good. i.e. "Wouldn't it be cool if Kirk and Picard meet?" Stick to the basic. Define the enemy, engage the enemy, over come the enemy. The end.

You want a morality play, how about a half-black/half-white episode, where the brothers are Q??

Or maybe there already were?? ;)
