Need a good Novel...

Hi all. I'm reading a book for a school project, it's called Dune. Very good book. However, I need a second book with a related theme and i'm having trouble finding a book with same theme, but it cant be from the same author (frank Herbert)

Anyone know of a good sci-fi book with a theme related to that of Dune which is at a mature reading level?

Try "Battlefield: Earth". Very crappy movie, but very good book.

Good book, but unfortunatley dosen't follow the same theme Dune does... The instructions for my assignment were very strict :(

So you mean the natural resource exploitation while opressing the native population? You can find that in a lot of non sci-fi books. Does it really have to be sci-fi?

I'm thinking more along the lines of the "Messiah" theme... You know, Paul being the Messiah of the Fremen and all.

You know... Neo being "The One".. :) But it's not a book..

There's always "The chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". Except there are more than one messiah.

Hmmmm... You see the Matrix would have fit perfectly. Maybe I can convince her it was a book before a movie :)

A friend of mine mentioned the book: Stranger in a strange land.
Apparently it's what i'm looking for.
