I know AOL is known for Lamers lol. Has anyone here tried their broadband, one my neighbours 3 doors swears by it. Im not sure how much he knows about the whole broadband area, has anyone else had the time or guts to try it. I know he pays around 28. Canadian. I really despise AOL, but not anymore than Rogers, which I am stuck with now
Thanks

AOL High Speed
https://join.aol.ca/
$24.95 per month for the first 3 months, $44.95 monthly thereafter (plus applicable taxes). Communication charges may apply.
AOL's broadband service isn't that bad, it works exactly like Sympatico DSL you don't have to use the AOL client. Having said that it's exactly the same price as Sympatico so why bother.

I imagine AOL's service being just like a third party DSL provider (guys reselling bell) .
I've had Bell Sympatico, and I currently have vif.. I don't notice the difference (Except the $15 difference.) You wouldn't notice the difference between Bell & Aol.

I don't know if their high speed service comes with dial up as well.
I use AOL dialup and it can be used almost anywhere in the world for at times a hefty hourly surcharge.

If there's a line problem, a Bell technician will come to your house same with any other DSL provider but you may be charged.

I have tried both Rogers and Sympatico. I have found Rogers was always faster, but now with the limits , the throttle on torrents, and getting rid of usenet, they are no longer worth it
As for Sympatico, it was slower, and still has Usenet, but the Usenet feed is step below horrible, always parts missing. The tech support at Bell is worse than any, except its on a par with Rogers. I am fairly disgusted with both services and I am planning to go elsewhere.
