Dell Printer 720 Can one use cheaper Ink??

I bought a Dell PC which included a Dell printer very pleased with the system, however my ink ran out, and it costs me $112.00 for one colour and 2 b/w cartridges is this normal???????
Or can one use a cheaper type of cartridge??

check staples.
they have just put out their own line of print cartridges for i believe your 720.
