I was wondering if there is anyone who could tell me how to get a list of the devices that boot up when linux starts and how slow it down so I can see what is not working and what is.
Thank u in advance

Open a terminal and type in the command:
dmesg | less
You can then see the output of dmesg screen by screen. More info on dmesg:

lol - me, too - so it'll be like the blind leading the blind. It might help to know which hardware is in question. The second link describes the booting process which may help you - otherwise I have my notes which walks you through the steps in booting. There's other ways to check your hardware - ie lspci to list your pci devices. If you're looking at your network card, you can use ifconfig eth0 (if it's ethernet) etc.

Sorry, I missed this. It looks like your network card is there, but are you connected to anything?
