Hello,
My main question is a P4 better then the M processors? HP is the only advertisement i've seen that has a P4 the rest or M whatevers.
I dont need DVD multilayer burns as I intend to us portable drives.
I'ld like some decent vid card as I want to play games and watch movies (but not too much im getting a bit old for it)
Decent battery life would be nice i guess.
I dunno what else?

P4=eh/crappy battery life
M=mobile/mobility=better battery life
decent video card=$ to the price of the overall laptop. not really a necessity for a general purpose laptop.

A pentium M of lower clock speed is able to outperform a pentium 4 of higher clockspeed. For example, a Pentium M 1.6 Ghz is better than a Pentium 4 of 2.0 Ghz.

This laptop cost me about ~$1,800. The price can go even cheaper if you get a different harddrive.

A Pentium M 1.8 Ghz is about equivalent to a Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz depending on applications. This just reinforces the fact that to gauge performance, don't depend solely on the clock speed. The clock speed is a factor, but there are many others that can play a greater role.
