Just wondering what you thought about the new name revelead for Microsoft new operating system currently known as Longhorn.

Now that the year is NOT attached to the windows name (ie. windows 98, etc.) microsoft won't have too worry about "date slipage". :o

personally I don't care much about the name, as long as Micro$oft improves the security and is quicker in doing stuff, I am happy with the OS.

Though XP I don't mind, but considering the security, I am kinda reserved in doing some stuff.

if the screenshots i looked at are of the real thing, it looks like it got MAC-ified.

I think Vista sounds better than Longhorn. Where they hell did they get THAT
name from? It sounds like a porn actor.

Who knows, the name might turn out to be the best part of the OS.

What Vista means is, a view or prospect, as along an avenue; an outlook. The name Vista sounds good to me.

Undecided since a name is just a name. The product will decide if it's a good or bad name, a bit like Edsel or Coke.

Well if the Vista phone and Vista car are any indications of what to expect from this operating system, as they were both bad products, then it'll be the worst OS yet.... :laf:

As do I, sounds a lot better. I thought the horns could've been a cool logo :vxd:

the name doesnt really matter much, its how it proforms really. But I still think that Windows XP was probaly the name I liked the most, because you can refer to the OS with just 2 letters X.P. But I still think that they could come up with a better name, I didn't really like the Longhorn Name either.
