Trying to hookup a wireless router and have a few challenges. Never tried this before ....
Want to place wireless router in the network but after the regular wired router being used now.
DSL modem > Router using PPPoE > Wired desktop and a the Wireless router > Laptop wireless and a wired desktop.
Wireless router is a Linksys WRT54GS 2.4 GHz Wireless-G
How to setup wireless router to work?

I'm waiting to see a solution for this setup as I want to do the same.
Does your router have an port marked "uplink"? If so, you want to connect the wireless router to the "Uplink" port on your wired router. If not just connect the wireless to an available port on the wired router. However I don't recommend this, it would be much easier to manage if you got a wireless router with wired ports so your wired and wireless computer only use the one router.

Unfortunately the modem and router are one unit, prepared by the ISP for use. I didn't mention, as I had forgot until I looked, by the modem/router has a standard router connected to it, then the two computers connected to it (this is at our daughter's place). If I can locate the user/pass for the ISP, I will replace that router with this new wireless one and configure the PPPoE. Was hoping just to use the existing wiring to this one computer (in basement), from the main one (with router) on top floor of house. Not in the cards, I guess.
Bogie, can you not get a hold of the ISP and ask for a swap out with their wireless version? Otherwise, you need the WAP54G Wireless Access Point ;)
