Safe wireless system

I have recentley put in a new wireless system in my new house .. now my question is how secure is it??? I heard someone say some thing about ssid to make it more secure can someone please explain how this is done , or how I can make my network more secure. I am already running Norton security on al the systems in the house.

Enable wep protection, hide ssid, and reserve mac addresses on router. all in options when you logon to your router. This would be as secure as it gets.

and use a firewall. i know zone alarm has a special one for wireless networks but probably any firewall will do.

Need one in case someone breaks into your wireless network. Having a firewall on each of your computers would then have an extra layer of security for the hacker to break into.
