As some of you know...our Miss Mollie has been participating in some dog shows. I attended her latest 'pageant' in Detroit at Cobo Hall on the weekend to see her capture her American Kennel Club Championship in the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier class.

She is 11 months old and first participated when she was 7 months. She travelled to Florida in late Nov. 2005 for a week-end show, earned 4 points and 1 Major...travelling back to Canada stopping in South Carolina for a week-end, she earned 1 point at a small show. This past week end she was in Detroit and earned 5 points and 1 Major on Saturday, and 5 points and 1 Major on Sunday to obtain her AKC Championship. (AKC says you have to have at least 15 points and 2 Majors) For some dogs this takes many shows and sometimes many years to achieve...Mollie did it in 3 week-ends. We are very proud...obviously...:d

She is 'pooched' today and is lounging the day away.

I have attached a couple of photos that are not the greatest quality but I will post the pro pics at a later date. I had to stay back from the ring some 40-50 feet so she could not see me or smell me to be distracted, reason for the poor quality ;)

The 'studs' are lining up to meet her...:ggl:

*Last 2 photos are from the professional photographer at the show. We just received them.

Mollie has been to a couple more 'pagents' this summer...taking first place each time she has been out. Most recently in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she was entered into the 'Speciality' class. She took first place on Saturday & Sunday which put her in the ring for Best of Breed...she placed 4th, which doesn't sound like much, but she is the first Wheaten Terrier to place in that grouping. Her handler wanted to keep her and work with her for the big show coming up in October in Montgomery, Ohio....but we didn't want to be without her for that long. She will leave 3 weeks prior to that show for training with the Best of Breed as her goal.
Hopefully that will be it for her pagent days...;)

P.S... Mollie's Mom and Dad had another litter this year in Florida...the owner has a pro photographer come to the house to take photos...this is the new batch...Mollie's half siblings I guess you would call them http://borosch.com/Wheaten/

That's excellent MissM :bsu:

I can hear the money rolling in for the breeder once she starts 'producing' ;)
