These aren't artistic but I think they're interesting. Yesterday Roop removed a lot of the ice from the pond so we could get the water circulating. It was cold overnight so a thin layer of ice formed. The fish who survived the winter were in the sunny area, under the ice. One pic shows how thick the ice was when he removed it yesterday.

That's interesting, that fish survived the winter , we have apond in the backyard also, but I removed the fish for the winter.

You need to have a pond that is at least 3' deep and you need to run a pond de-icer and a bubbler as well. To keep my electricity bill in check I bought a good outdoor digital timer and set it to run the de-icer for 15 minutes 7 times a day. I also put a bucket over the hole to keep the snow from building up over it. We lost some fish but it looks like the majority survived. There are a lot of last years babies in there too.

They're just standard feeder fish (goldfish) for the most part. Cheap and hardy. They were very small when we got them but most of them have been with us for two years and they've grown really well. They're very well fed and fish (to some point anyway) grow based on their enviroment. They've got lots of room to grow.
