Blaze Media Pro (http://www.blazemp.com/convert_between_pal_ntsc.htm)
or Atlantis (http://www.dvfilm.com/atlantis/index.htm)
or best way is to simply purchase a region-free DVD player that will convert PAL (Europe) to NTSC (North America). Least hassle and most likely least expensive way to do it.
The combination of free software for conversion is a nightmare and not really worth the effort.

Tried that before but didn't work on my players. I did some movies a while back before I bought my Philips 642 DVD player.
Can't remember the software I used but it took several hours to convert it from Pal to NTSC. You also loose the menus.

What a pain to convert to Pal to NTSC.
I bought a DVP642 also...I didn't feel like wasting my time converting PAL movies, and losing menus with DVDSanta.
