Finally can see clearly .. lol, can't wear them all the time right now because I'm just getting used to them but wow what a difference, it's sort of freaking me out because I feel like everything is closer to me so it's throwing me off a bit but still it is so nice to see everything as it should be, also didn't realize how much I have to mop the floor till now LOL

Do you think that your eye troubles were attributed by computer use?

No, my eyes have been bad longer then my computer years .. lol, I have an astigmatisim (however you spell it) so I knew I had to do something but always just put it off :hsh:

Frogy, I'm almost afraid to walk through the rest of the apartment now .. lol

I think I will join your club soon. I have astigmatism as well and I'm sure that computer usage (starring at the monitor for long periods of time) has some contribution to eye problems.

Be afraid...very afraid. Those dust bunnies have gotten rather large over the years of you avoiding the rest of the apartment. :eri:

Yes very strange, when I first put them on at Lenscrafters I took them right back off because it sort of stunned me .. was told to wear them off and on for about a week or two to get used to them

Ah, I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 I'm now almost 37. Every year my prescription gets progressively worse. I don't dilly dally with a change in glasses, I just put em on and get used to it... :p Never mind wearing em on and off for a week, couldn't do that anyway if I wanted to...:hst:

You want a stun? Try -14 in each eye + 100 for astigmatism+28 for the bifocal..... lmao.

And yes I still drive taxi:hst:

Took Lenscrafters 2 weeks to make mine, so much for glasses in about an hour .. lol, they said I needed special lenses so it would take longer, I guess my eyes are more out of whack then I thought lol. I've been wearing them more on then off today, indoors is alright but I know it will feel wierd outside in the daylight, guess I will tackle that one tomorrow ;)

When I first got my reading glasses, I would get vertigo from walking down the hall with them on. It took a couple of weeks to get used to it. LOL Happy reading and computing, Lee Anne. :)

I never wear my glasses when I'm at the computer, only for driving and watching tv or seeing a movie, thats it, I think my eyes are better for it.

Stairs are the worst.

My first time with bifocals I almost became a stunt man.

Andyman I don't feel sexy or like Grandma .. lol

Didn't wear them while out today because it was just too bright and so I had to wear the sunglasses, I think I will mostly wear them for watching TV and see distance though. Last night I wore them for a couple of hours and when I took them off I thought my vision was going to take a week to clear up again :mbx:

Don't buy clip-ons unless you test drive them first.

Some can create a glare between your glasses and the clip-on.
I had them made for mine won't do that again.

I have Eze-Clip glasses.

They come with magnetic sunglasses, and anti-glare ones also for PC use. I find them great for night driving too.

With my first pair I was amazed that there were actually definitive shapes on the trees called leaves instead of just green blobs!

The reason you had to wait, is they probably had to order them from another lab. Astigmatism requires a very precise grind, and the lenses have to be placed precisely in the frame. If you turn them sideways and look through them, you will see why. All the one hour places have preground lenses on site and they grind them to fit the frame. If you have a difficult prescription such as astigmatism, that can't necessarily be done. I have only had custom ground lenses through my optometrist (and I don't have astigmatism). The cost is about the same. Good luck with the new eyes.
