Odd situation here. The wife's comp has a problem wherein, if she goes to insert a dik, to wtch, or burn, it causes the system to freeze, so it has to be rebooted. I don't even know where to start on this one. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. System is as follows:
MSI MB, P4 2.8 E, 1 gig ram, 120 gig SATA boot drive, WD, 160 gig WD EIDE, 80gig WD EIDE, Asus 50X cd-ROM, Sony 8x burner, Ati 9200SE VC, MSI brand, High Power 350 w PSU, Win XP Home.SP 2.

Presuming that the PSU is up to the tasks of system,
If lockups only occurs when DVD drive is accessed,
Double check jumpers on DVD drive and other drive, if applicable, sharing same ATA cable.
