what is diff. between regular memory and OCZ?
what is diff. betweenATI radeon x300se/128 and x300se/256?
I guess it wud be wise to change standard PS for 420 watt enermax for 45$ more.Any more suggestions?

ok - what exactly are you trying to achieve?

OCZ memory is of higher quality and allows for lower latency than generic. If you're not overclocking, it's really not necessary.

One has 128Mb of memory, the other has 256Mb

System specifications?
Why are you changing the power supply?

More info required.

OCZ is a higher quality, probably quicker and more reliable too, but you pay a premium.

Re the two cards, in my opinion, probably not a great deal. Extra graphics card memory (like main system memory) is really only of use if you run something which needs it, and to be honest, if you need that extra memory, I would be inclined to think that you should also be considering a higher spec card.

As for the power supply, it depends on your current (pardon the pun) and future requirements. While you may think it is just spending a little extra for peace of mind (and I would go along with that), it is not all gain. Larger power supplies not only use more electricity (although you probably wouldn't notice it on your bill), but they create more heat and make more noise (everything else being equal) - you only have to look at the specs for the differrent versions of a particular range on manufacturers websites to see that.

Where do you get your information from?

The rating is maximum design load, not normal usage. Consumption depends on two things - the PSUs efficiency, and current draw from hardware. On the contrary, efficiency declines as the load approaches the rated capacity. If your were to compare the power consumption of two power supplies under the same load conditions, the higher rated unit would actually use less power.

Anything of decent quality will have a thermal based fan speed controller to reduce noise under lower load.

For a typical (new) system, 350 - 400W is recommended, even though most computers don't draw more than 250. (Prescott Pentium 4s excluded  ) For the sake of reliability, load should be kept under 75% of rated capacity.

You're living up to your user name, minus the s. :D (it's the computer's fault, right? :p )

We still don't have enough info - how about generally what you use a computer for, budget, etc.

Before you run out and buy a new computer, check the capacitors, power supply, CPU temperature and ram.

Go with the Enermax.
That videocard sucks for anything other than web browsing.

Are you doing any gaming at all? I would also suggest going the AMD64 route.

I stand corrected, looks if the info re power supplies I was using was a bit out of date.

Possibly - check the system log files of you're running windows xp or 2000.
