I have a 13 pound Pomeraniun and she is 10 & half years old and she started about 6 weeks ago to lose her fur. She hardly has any left on the sides. She has been scratching and biting herself and she had sores that were infected and the vet prescribed antibiotics for 2 weeks. The infected area got better but she continues to scratch & bite. I was prescibed 2 different medicated shampoos and a conditioner and bath her. I was also given a tiny tube of ointment to stop the itch. Well the oitment is finished and the vet wont give her more.
She says the only thing left it sterroids but she doesn't recomend it for dogs or cats. I went on the net to see for free vet advise because the expence is drying up all my $. I found this website that has some information
(Veterinary Q & A - Itching, Scratching, and Hair Loss)
now there they advertise some product to help.
The Email is:Ravenpetproducts@Ravenpetproducts.com
The name of the product is:Raven pet Products.
Does anyone know about this? I wish I knew if I can trust this product. My vet doesn't know what else to do and I am growing more & more worried. Can anyone help me with this? Has anyone encountered this before?

Good luck.
some things to consider
Have you changed anything in the dogs diet prior to the onset of the problem ?
Did you change laundry soaps , fabric softeners soaps or shampoos ?
Any drastic changes in the dogs life (other pets come or go, family members pass) ?
Skin disorders in animals are not uncommon, my mom had a West Highland Terrier that had to take pills her whole life for a form of dermititus (sp).
acctually funny you bring this up, my pomeranian is also going bald, over the past year we have been fighting with flea's and other sking problems. Now she has gone in waves where there was a point where she lost all her undercoat, it has now grown back (AFTER the winter... poor thing) and everything else is coming in thicker except for a patchy area where she still has an itchy sore. We have made improvments to her diet such as extra oil and eggs for her coat, it seems to have worked so far. She doesnt seem to concerned with becoming bald :p she is about 8 or 9...

Our first Wheaten was allergic to fleas... he developed this later in his life ...exhibited the same symptoms...even when we got the flea issue taken care of...it took quite a while for the hair to grow back in areas that were bald and he contined to scratch for a long time...changed his diet also to homemade and used Omega fish oil capsules.
Some blood lines are prone to slipped stifle, dislocated patella (knee-cap), heart and skin problems, and eye infections.
I found this searching the net , it seems they are prone skin problems

I think I finally found out the problem. This whole scratching started when a 2 pound yorkshire moved next door and started comming over. She is not spayed and my dog is. When she came over and peed on my floor and went into my dogs sleeping area. She is very domineering little thing. My dog is very submissive. So I think it's causing my dog lots of stress. I was not aware of territorial issues with pets so I kept encouraging them to get together. Now that I look back I understand why all this happened. I caused this poor creature so much stress. I plan to order that product to help her to heel and change how I treat her. My dog Cokette is a gentle tenderhearted girl who diserves her own space. She is also a people dog. I thank you all for your info. I will be changing my ways from now on.:rah:

Here is My little Cokette, the one who is going bald.
I made her a little white pijama so she wont scratch or nibble and so far so good. She had some blood work done yesterday at the vet to get at the root of the problem so now I wait for results. Well at least her outfit hides her big bare spots and protects her from the sun.
