Anyone see this one on TMN this week-end???
I remember seeing one years ago in black & white. Not sure what it was called. Maybe Zatôichi to Yôjinbô (1970).
Any comments??
Bought it quite a while ago , though it was really good. I really like what is revealed at the very end.
I also really liked the samurai character that is hired to fight him, he wasnt bad he was just trying to make some cash...just like alot of asian flicks there isnt always a definte good or bad which is a fresh change from hollywood where that dude is the bad guy , heres the good guy and the good guy always wins so that we can put out a sequel.

Yes. The bad samurai was only trying to help his consumptive wife.
My B & W film may have been the first in the series, Zatôichi monogatari (1962).
Can't tell from the IBM user comments.
But the timing is correct, about 40 years ago.

Ya the actor that plays the samurai assasin is Tadanobu Asano aka the Johnny Depp of Japan. An amazing actor who has done so many good movies and can flawlessly play an assortment of characters without breaking a sweat. The dance/musical outro at the end was really the only thing that most viewers were split on.

Yes.
I thought I had warped into some kind of Shrek-like acid flashback.

TMN has it on again this month.
And now that I have a DVD-ROM machine I will keep it.
