Visiting relatives (84 and 88 year old Uncles) in Stittsville/Ottawa this weekend and would need a place to stay. Any ideas of inexpensive places to stay?

thanx

Ottawa and Stittsville are a fair drive apart - do you have a preference as to where you stay?

We're visiting Uncles in Stittsville and Ottawa, so somewhere in either place or anywhere between since we'll be driving back and forth at least once or twice.

We have always used Webbs Motel (http://www.webbsmotel.com) on Carling. Close to the Queensway. Large units, kitchens available, etc. Many ground level units.

We have so much family in Ottawa (my hometown - well Eastview/Vanier is), but when the need arises we use Webbs. My mother is in Stittsville, but I don't know of accomodations in that town.

Nope an "Eastview" boy :D I go back a few years before Vanier came into being. Paroise St. Charles

Vanier, like any old town, has it's good and bad parts. The good outweighs the bad many times over.

One of my uncles was mayor of Vanier for many terms. Retired, not defeated.

Lived there from birth to age 5, then moved to Edmonton (was an army brat).

Mother in Stittsville, one sister in Kanata, another sister in Nepean, one brother now in Carlton Place, another brother in Melbourne Australia, and 3rd sister in Kingston. Small french family ;)

Family name is a page and a half in the Ottawa phonebook.

Any more suggestions for a place for 2 people to stay? I tried the University and I got mixed results. Expensive for private washrooms, less expensive than a hotel/motel for shared washrooms.

thanx in advance for any more idea's :)

What do you mean by inexpensive? To me that would be under $100 per night, to others under $50.

It says at the Webb's Hotel website that rates for two people are $78 and up. I checked a few hotels that I know of in the area (Kanata, Bell's Corners, downtown Ottawa), and there's nothing for under $102 a night. Webb's sounds ideal. As Bogie mentioned, it's close Queensway access, yet still close to downtown in case you want to check out any sights. I've not been there, so I can't attest to the cleanliness, but Bogie seems to like it. Word of mouth means a lot in the tourism/retail trade! I live in Kanata, which is just before Stittsville if you're heading there from downtown, and I'd guess-timate that you could get from Webb's to this side of Stittsville in under 20 minutes (excluding rush hour traffic and hockey game nights! LOL)
