I went to install Diablo when I first noticed this earlier this week.I go to install the first disc and it installs fine, prompts me to put in the second disc and it doesn't seem to read(the green light goes on for a bit then stops).
Installed WOW today same problem.First disc reads fine, then when it prompted me to install disc 2..won't read it.
Running Windows XP,3Ghz HT,160GB HD and 1 GB of RAM.

Sounds like the second cd is either corrupted or has a speck of dirt right where it needs to read it. What you can try is wash the disk under warm, not hot water and pat dry with a kleenex. DO NOT scrub or rub the cd in any motion at all as this may scratch it...gently pat dry only. If this this doesn't work, the cd is most likely bad. Also, do NOT use something like rubbing alcohol to clean the disk.

Ok will try this.Just found it strange that it would do this twice...

Look at the cd carefully. If there is something stuck to it, it will tend to do this each and every time. While running it under water you can gently rub it from the center hole to the outside if something is there. As stated, if theis doesn't work, sounds like you have a bad cd
If it's happening on more than one disc, it most likely has to do with the drive.
Check them in another machine to be sure, and run a drive cleaning CD for a minute or so.
