i've been trying to install an upgrade to some audo software i have, and have been having a hard time. finally i figured out that it is a .st file, which is a compressed archive, and i don't seem to have stuff it expander anymore. so i looked into it, and apparently, stuff it no longer is included in a fresh installation of tiger. so where do i fine it?
oh and another quick question. when i am online, every so often an annoying pop up message comes up reminding me that i am still online, and that pop upos are annoying. how do i get rid of this? and where is the evil ******* responsible for this?

Dude, go to download.com, shareware.com, versiontracker.com (my preferred site) or any other software download site and type "Stufffit" in tthe search field. The freeware Stuffit Expander should appear before you to download and install.
As for this pop-up issue, I'venever seen that on OS X. Might you be on dial-up? If so, OS X's netwwork preffernce might be set to remind you that you're on, because in the old days some ISP packages had connction time maximums. If this is the case, check OS X's System Preferences (via that Apple menu icon top-left and peruse the preffernce buttons (particularilly the Network one).
Or, might you be getting pop-up ads?? Your web browser should have a pop-up blocker. Safari and Firefox do. IE/Mac does not (PLEASE don't tell me you're using IE/Mac).

Okay, next time this message appears, please take a screenshot of it and attach the picture to a post here for me (and others) to see it.
To take a shot of something on your screen, there are three options:
1) To take a picture of your ENTIRE desktop, hold down both the Command key and the Shift key while hitting the #3 key at the top of your keyboard (the 3 above the letters W and E). You will hear a camera shutter sound and a graphic file called "Picture 1" will be on your desktop. NOTE: The Command key, also called 'The Apple Key", sits on either side of the spacebar. It has an Apple logo and a sort of four-leaf clover on it.
2) To take a picture of a particular region of your desktop, hold the Command and Shift keys and hit the #4 key. This will turn your mouse cursor into a cross-hair and you can drag it (say, from top-left to bottom-right) to select a region of your screen for a shot.
3) To take a picture of one single open window -- like this pop-up that appears,, do the Command-Shift-4 combination, but THEN hit the spacebar. Your cursor will then become a camera icon and any window you hover the mouse over will be highlighted for the shot. With the desired window highlighted, just click the mouse.
Then, attach the picture to a post in this forum thread.
