I didn't put my ddr ram in properly so the there was a connection point that was slightly damaged, it started smoking. Now my motherboard has two slots for ddr ram and two for sdram, is it still safe to use the motherboard as long as I use the sdram slots instead of the ddr??
Thanks in advance, these boards are great!!!
It's possible only the RAM was damaged and not the sockets. Is your motherboard in warranty?

No it's not under warranty, I see on the ddr slots that there's a burn mark on it and there's also a burn mark on the ram, I have extra sdram so I'm just going to use that ram if I can.
Use the DDR socket which isn't damaged. Memory controller might be damaged as well.

Yes if you caused any shorts in the connector you probably can kiss the Northbridge or memory controller good bye.
