Hi there,
I have a 2001 malibu and I need another brake job
My warranty is almost up so I can get want I want instead of the Malibu brakes.
Anyways, I remember reading about after market brakes that were much better than the Malibu stock breaks.
Any advice?
Thanks
OM

I don't think breaks are covered by the cars warranty. So you should be able to get any break job you like.

"Jobber" break pad/linings are usually better, not so hard, more stopping power.
It's like tires. Hard wears a long time, but provides less grip.
I prefer performance over long-life, but that just me. :)

Now that it's getting long in the tooth, it's time for ask around for an independent mechanic you can put your trust in. :)

Yup :)
P.S: It's "brakes" not "breaks" (my impression of Carz & Comps :d)

Hi Dr Dan,
So can you have a shop install parts that you bring in or parts that you specify?

Yes, and yes.
But mine charges $86 an hour, so be specific. ;)

Hi Dr Dan,
So can you have a shop install parts that you bring in or parts that you specify? Yep, most will do it... some won't...
Or you can find someone that deals with Raybestos product line and use them ;)
But if you go out and get your own parts, you know you won't be paying an inflated retail price :)
But have the brakes checked out first, so you know what you need
