Windows XP Pro

On my second computer l have windows XP Pro. Its a pirate copy.
My question is : I now want to make it legal,do I just put the update disk in and install over top of the existing program, then register it Or do l have to wipe everything out reformat win.98 back in then update. I realize l will end up with win XP Home and thats fine.

Or can this be done through the Microsoft web site.

I hate to say it but contact MS, tell them how you came to own such nasties (Blame KaZaA) :lol: . Get a great deal on legit product. It's only fair. They gave the Chinese a great deal on legit Windows and Office
