Burning depends on a lot of things...
CPU... Ram... What programs are running in the back ground... ect.. ect...
No matter what anyone tells me.. I always burn at a lower speed..
I feel a slower burn is better.. I have always been under the impression that there is some quality loss (might only be slight) also burning at a higher speed increases the chances of errors...
Make sure everything is closed when you are burning..
Try burning at a lower speed...
One other thing to check is configuration..
It is better not to have the cd burner and cd rom on the same IDE.
Primary Master.. Hard Drive
Primary Slave..... Cd Rom
Secondary Master.. Burner
