Ok, this is kinda weird but for some reason some of my systen utilities seem to be gone. Windows paint, character map, sound recorder, wordpad and calculator, and a few more are missing but i dont use them anyways.

ok, so I'm like WTF, and Stick my Windows CD in my CD-ROM. Go into the components and try and install them again. FIRST TRY: Get an error, Woo hoo, big surprise. One of those Ex000xs errors. Ok, Try again. Everything seems to go fine this time. I check my start menu They are there!

Well, Then I try and open Paint. "File not found, To search click Browse". I click browse and look around in my Windoze system folder. The programs are gone. Someone stole them and I want them back - Looks at Deb. :vxd::ntm:

Someone tell me whats going on please. I mean they are stupid programs buy you really miss them once they are gone.:tch: (misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=7#) :tch:

just a few suggestions....
update and scan for viruses do a diagnostic on the hard drive.
have you been using any registry cleaning program?

Type mspaint.exe in the Run box on the start menu. The Paint program, if it's still around, should open.

Doesn't tell us much. Try a memory diagnostic utility (Memtest?) or try swapping sticks in and out.

Yeah, I have registry mechanic, but I havent done a scan since this started happening. Also I ran Ad-Aware, and Spybot.

Looked for it. "Windows Cannot find the program"

waaaa *cries* I want my programs back.

Looks like a reinstall is in order. I think I'll try the Recovery program on the Windows CD first. I'm not really ready for a re-install yet. Well, more like I'm too lazy to back up all my stuff right now. LOL :hst:
