Create a folder ....
First Export your mail account settings
In OE... Tools... Accounts...Mail Tab... Highlight the account(s) one at a time.. and export them
Save them to the folder you created..
Export your Address book..
OE... File... Export and follow the prompts.. Save a copy to the folder you created..
(If that does not work.. do a search for *.wab and save a copy of the address book to the folder)
Export your Favourites...
IE... Files.. Import/Export...Next... Export Favourites.. (follow the wizard).... Save to folder...
You can use a program like Express Archive... http://www.expressarchiver.com/ to backup your mail or you can do it manually.
To find the location of your files..
OE... Tools.. Options... Maintenance Tab...Store Folder..
You will see something similar....
C:\Documents and Settings\Mitch\Application Data\Identities\{885CC10B-AAAA-4444-BBBB-222A1234567}\Microsoft\Outlook Express ...........This is the location of all your mail files..
Each Identity will have its own folder.. You can copy the Identity folder for each one..
or
OE... Tools... Options... Maintenance Tab... Store
Highlight the folder location.... right-click ...... select Copy.... Click Cancel.... Cancel.
Click Start... Run..... Open box.... right click .... select Paste.... OK.
A new window will open.... Press Ctrl & A keys to highlight all the files in the window
Right click on one of the highlighted files ....select Copy
Open the folder you created... Right click.... Paste
(same deal.. you have to do this for each identity)
To Restore OE Email from Backup
In OE... File..... Import... Messages and follow the wizard...
