Hi,
How do you find out the ip address AND MAC address on my fiancee's eMac. Her eMac has an Airport Extreme wireless card in the eMac.
I forgot!

OK... never mind... SHE (I was told to say "SHE") figured it out on her own. :)

easy as heck on a mac. :)
and for the uninitiated who might have to find that one day?
system preferences > network
click configure on airport, and everything is all there in tabs.

Even easier for the uninitiated?
Click on the Spotlight icon, top-right and type "MAC address" with no quotes:
Hmmm... top of the list is "Network". I'll click that.
BOOM:

Done.
Spotlight can be VERY helpful.

I am assuming that the "Airport ID" is the IP address. :)

Yes, Paul. Confusingly, Apple labels the Ethernet MAC address as "Ethernet ID". They're not the only ones to use a different term for this entity, however, but my impression is that the "officially accepted" term is "MAC address". Is this your impression or to your knowledge as well?
silly noobs...
;)
that is the MAC address for the airport card. If you want the MAC address for the ethernet, you go up and select built in ethernet and there it is.
If you want the 'IP address' for either you click the tcp/ip tab and there IT is.
It's all in that one network panel. All settings, values, and configuring. All in one spot. Like it should be.
