I've been into podcasting for almost 1 yr now and in the past few months more and more of whats called Mash-Ups have been appearing and they seem to be showing up more on podcasts then else where. One of the podcasts I listen to is Adam Curry's "Daily Sourcecode" and this morning he played one of the best Mash-Ups I have heard yet.
Have a listen to "Stairway to Bootleg Heaven" at http://www.djearworm.com/
It's a mash-up of the following artists.
Dolly Parton - Stairway to Heaven vs. Eurythmics - This City Never Sleeps vs. Beatles - Because vs. Laurie Anderson - O Superman vs. Art Of Noise - Moments in Love vs. Beastie Boys - So Whatcha Want vs. Pat Benetar - Love is a Battlefield
Please let me know what you think.
For those who don't know what a Mash-up is, this is what is defined at wikipedia:
******* pop is a musical genre which, in its purest form, consists of the combination (usually by digital means) of the music from one song with the acapella from another. Typically, the music and vocals belong to completely different genres. At their best, ******* pop songs strive for musical epiphanies that add up to considerably more than the sum of their parts.
