whaoo this Thursday I will be graduating
same guy that years ago started some stupid joke about how a monkey could run the computer mechanics show by feeding it bananas and poping in pre recorded responses to viewers questions for the show or the winner of a Alexander Graham Bell cd-rom
gone by the names of Wiltshire, rambo and maybe some others, I've been good and thats all the mods want when it comes to posts with the user name I have now
no I don't have a Buick Grand National but I did spend $20 on a rafle for one and it gets drawn on Labour Day weekend in the Oshawa car show at the GM HQ
anyways, its been a challenge to make it through basic training, very little sleep, lots of crash course lessons and many mistakes made but all in all I'm still here and thats what matters. others have failed or gotten injured but I've made it through
now I will be going to Borden and starting my Soldier Qualification course on August 24th, I will probably be on what they call pat platoon until for something to do, I will get my car to the base, its getting a paint job this week and I can't wait to see the final results
I don't know what happened to my earlier post about starting life in the military but I hope it wasn't deleted for something I did.

If you're out on maneuvours and get pinged with Smarties or M&M's, the legacy will still be alive.

I've managed to get two weeks leave time from Borden for some summer holidays.
Not that things at Borden are all that bad. First week I was there, all it involved was administration work. Just sit and wait for an interview, took three days for that to get finished because there was so many of us. Then last week I was repelling in the morning and rock wall climbing in the afternoon. I had to do another rucksack march on Tuesday but it wasn't as hard because the rucksack wasn't loaded with anything extra.
There is no internet terminals like I was using in St. Jean so now I have to get a laptop and pay for my own internet service or use the wireless and hope for the best. That means I maybe selling parts of my current computer to do so, nothing decided yet. Today is the first day home for me so it will take some time to catch up on much more important thing like paying bills and such.
I had my car repainted while I was away and it should look sharp.
So much to write about so little time.

Congrats.....I know 2nd hand from my late son how hard boot camp can be....but I'll bet you have lots of good memories along with how hard the course can be......keep on doing what you are.....my son saw a lot of Europe which he never would have, had he not been stationed in Germany & he was only 18. He had to get my signature to join as he was only 17, but because he was hanging with the wrong crowd & doing things he shouldn't have I gave my blessing. He hated rules but went in a boy and came home a man that understood why there are rules.

What barrack block is that? When I was in Pat eons ago we were in really awful barracks near T139. They were torn down not long after.
Any word when your training begins?
My son will be down that way in a couple weeks for his first cadet camp.

Its S137, a new building as all the beds and rooms are brand new.
My training starts Aug 24th, so I'm on PRETC right now, similar to PAT but all we do is recreational activities and no actual jobs. Pretty nice that way.
Your son will probably go to Blackdown forest, how long will he be there for?

August 7th, my Rogers Extreme internet will be cut off. As I won't need it here at the house I used to live at anymore. My parents will get High Speed Lite, half the price and 24x slower.
Down the road I could get Internet service in Borden but I also need to get a laptop. Its very hard for me to go from my current computer to a *ugh*laptop*ugh*. But thats what I have to except when living in the military, drastic changes.

Congrats to you buickgnx!!! The military is a wonderful life. I met my husband of 41 1/2 years in Camp Borden. We only live about 28 miles from Borden after all these years.
Sincerely,
