When upgrading ram, does it matter if the specs are exactly the same as the module you currently have? Like I have a PC3200 installed, when my mobo supports PC 2100 unbuffered non-ECC . SO can i theoriticly get the same specs but PC 2700 or whatever? Thanks.

your pc3200 will run as if it were pc2700, price difference between the two has to be very small so why even get pc2700

Yea im just asking since my mobo states it supports the PC 2100, I can use 2 differnt modules, like a PC 3200, or PC2700 etc..Im ebaying memory so some may be cheaper than others.

You can refer to websites such as Kingston Technology (http://www.kingston.com) to check for any limitations, combinations... and such for the mobo/system in question.

The answer is no if you have a decent motherboard - DDR sticks have no problems running at a slower clock speed than that of the rating.
