Hey, all. Just wanted to let you know that this remote is being offered for $260 at CCS esales (http://ccs.slwcorp.com). It appears that they are a GTA area seller. I was able to get Future Shop to price match (after a lot of hemming and hawing) which was $70 off their listed price of $330.

We recently moved to a new house and all our remotes have gone missing. I've spent the last week checking out reviews and this remote stood out for ease of use and programmability. Any remote that has users boasting that their wives can use it with ease MUST be good! =)

Harmony remotes are alone in their category. No other so-called "universal" remotes can can come close to what Harmony can do and how easy they are. Heck, I can even control the lights in my home theater using my Harmony remote. :)

How is the Harmony for backwards compatibility? I have an older TV that I've lost the remote for and I can't change any of the settings (brightness, contrast colour etc.)

Thanks,
Fezz

The remote is configurable via USB and using Harmony's web site so it supports a massive number of TVs. Give me the brand and model no and I can check for you. But odds are they it does.

I have the lower Harmony 688 that I got for $80 during one of Dell's 10-days of sales. My major gripe with the 880 is that it's very battery hungry with its bright color LCD screen.

I got the 688 from Dell as well, great remote!

My major gripe with the 880 is that it's very battery hungry with its bright color LCD screen.

That was one of the things that concerned me during my research, but I found out that the remote comes with a cradle that charges the battery. I had also considered the 688 but that model requires regular AA batteries that will need replacing unless you have the rechargeable type.

I've just finished configuring the remote (what a breeze!). I've also downloaded some logos to customize the icons for my favourites. We'll see how it goes the next couple of days, but so far, so good! =)
