Here is what i have done so far to try and get my firefox installed for my linux kubuntu. The file is called firefox-1.0.6.installer.tar.gz
1. d/led it
2. unzipped it
3. changed to that directory

I tried to install but got the error no such file or directory
What do I do next? how do I get it to install on my computer

Thanks in advance

read my thread http://www.thecomputermechanics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1267

I am not running the distro you are and I am still leaning but there should
be a program to get firefox installed on your linux. with the program
suggested in my thread I was abel to install the firefox. read the documentation
that came with your distro. the name and procedure will differ with your distro.

I figured it out. Under the system menu there was a package manager that had a copy of firefox and mozillia it in and I used it to install it.

Yeah, easiest way to install stuff in Debian based Linux distributions, ie Ubuntu or Mepis, is to use the packet manager.

LOL sometimes just a little too easy for my liking. ROTFL. I found out how to do it by myself like 3 mins after I posted the message.
