View Full Version : Tcm portal very slow at loading.

When I come here I go to www.thecomputermechanics.com ( its my login page) and it takes me to the portal. I've noticed the last couple of days it seems to take along time for it to load but, if I go to www.thecomputermechanics.com/forums it loads right away.
It's not me Iv'e checked my computer over and even used my backup machiene same thing :mbx:
Any ideas? thanks in advance.
It might be you, it loads instantly on all three of my machines

could there be something on the page that say your virus scanner is looking over and slowing the loading down?

You mean like an image? I've thought of that sometimes it will load instantly other times it won't very strange never had this before
but I am due for a reinstall soon.

Viewing the Home page is usefull if you just want to see what the main topics of discussion are. But no, no slowdown here, using Legacy theme.

As much as I didn't have a problem before, I just tried it now and it took forever to load.... it just sat there saying 'Waiting for www.thecomputermechanics.com' for well over 30 seconds before it even started to load, then it finally loaded in about 2 or 3 seconds. :rrg:

It seems to have spread to the entire board and it's getting slower by the second...
It's taking anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes for a page to load... and it's not just me... everyone in the shoutbox has said the same thing.

I have Rogers and TCM has been slow all day today. Yesterday was OK. All other sites I visit load fast as usual. Does somebody know why this is happening? Really would like to know!!

It's been slow for me for a while now. At home with Rogers and at work with whatever we have that is usually faster than Rogers.

Spoke too soon thought it was fixed as it was fast there for a while, it was back to slow again yesterday afternoon, and again this morning. Wondering if somebody has figured out why this is happening??

It's getting really hard to keep waiting 2 minutes for a page to load.
If this is someone doing this to the site, I hope you can find out who it is and chop off their F%&#ing fingers! :ttt: :vil:
It was a DoS attack. We'd been watching it for a couple days, we know where it's coming from. We've put some measures in place to stop this nonsense :tte:
All should be ok now :) Please bear with us though, some tweaking may be required to get it just right :ght:

I was just coming here to post about it too... I see others thought the same ;)
One minute it's fast, the next it hangs a bit, then it takes a minute or two to load a page....
Seen about 5 database errors just today alone... about 2 yesterday
Seems it started just after Deb did the last software update.
Any chance it undid whatever she did to stop the slowdown before??
