Made my own tomato cages this year as the store bought ones are way to small. These are a full 5' high. Made from 6" x 6" concrete reinforcing mesh.

Ok, the photo won't upload, not sure why. It fails each time even though it is smaller than the limit.

It has to be an accepted format.

Try jpeg.

Oh, OK, I was misreading it before... Now I understand

I've seen others using that stuff before too... usually by guys (or friends of theirs) in the forming business ;)

Cow/horse fencing is much the same.

Yes it is similar. The difference is the guage and the width of the mesh is 6'.

sweet millions, same ones I am growing. I find it easer to use stakes.

I gave up on stakes years ago (I'm too lazy), and the regular cages are way too small for plants that usually exceed 5'. They are good for pepper plants, though. I had the screening in the garage for a number of years, and finally got around to building some.

Many years ago, in a place far, far away, I made a big folding A-frame one, out of wood and hardware cloth. :)

They are a good size Bill, I know the ones you buy are always too small.

I made a mistake with the giant tomato plant. It is now over six feet tall, and pushing a foot out of the sides of the cage. It is not a sweet millions, but rather, a cherry tomato plant. They are a poor use of space. The plants get huge but don't produce a lot of fruit compared to sweet 100s or millions. If I had known, I would have ripped it out.
