Samsung reason being; both came with my computers when I bought them and not a SINGLE failure.

Maxtor on the other hand - 1 internal(failed; warranty replaced) and now my Maxtor external 160GB that I bought for 80 bucks, this thing better not do the same!

Ya made the same mistake glitch did... only able to select one brand.
Many people use 2 or 3 different brands...

I use Seagate & WD... which one would you like me to vote for? :tch:

I think you'll find the results will be close to the same as 4 months ago too ;)

Ya I was thinking of being able to choose more then 1 Harddrive BUT I want to know which one you like better and I guess would use in your own system if you had a choice.

I'll pick for you...Seagate :D lol

Good guess... Seagate is my prefered, but if it's not available at the moment that I'm buying, I'll get a WD without a seconds thought.

Seagate is prefered for it's 5 year warranty over WD's 3 year ;)

Three WD.
Two Seagate, the Seagate are recent additions, price and warranty being the main factors.
I dont have a favourite, they all have been just fine. They're all in one machine, and one is external, same machine.

I don't care as long as it works and doesn't lose my data.

Got 16 Maxtors, 2 to 6 years old, no problems with any of them. (Not all in the one machine!) :)

I voted all-of-the-above.

With about the same number of drives as Cat person, it just seems to happen.

My computer is super quiet. So when my computer is idle my harddrives do make a noticible amount of noise. Thats my only complaint about these babies

Try to buy WD whenever possible. Have en external one with a Segate and notebook was upgraded to Hitachi 7200 rpm.

Western and recently seagate.
Western has been going strong for good three years [knock on wood]
Recently bought a Segate and it's humming along.

One Western Digital in my P4,
One maxtor in my P3,
And in my E-machines Celeron machine, I don't know what brand it is.

As for my Toshiba Satellite a100-ofh laptop, I don't know what the make of my hard drive is....lol
