Incoming e-mail seems to be blocked

Can someone advise me how to restore above ?
I have re-installed Zone Alarm....could this be the
culprit ? Am using Windows Xp Home.
What's an alternative to Zone Alarm that is FREE ?
All and any help will be appreciated.

Make sure that in Zone Alarm you have allowed internet access for your email program. You can try sygate if you find Zone Alarm too complicated to use, that is what I use now and it has a much more simplified interface compared to Zone Alarm.
