Hi

I'm running XP PRO SP2 and I just bought a WD 320 GB Sata harddrive, I have it connected to the "SATA_RAID1" port on my "P4P800-E Deluxe" ASUS mother board but windows can't find it.

After I turn on my machine on the black screen it ask me to push "CTRL + F" because it found the new sata drive and then I went to this bio looking screen and I press 1 or whatever it was and I say save and exit, not idea what that was for

any ideas how to get XP to see the drive?

thanks

Alex

Is it your boot drive or just an aditional drive? You may need to enable something in your bios. If its your boot drive you need to reinstall windows, press F6 at boot and install your sata driver.

you will need your sata drivers for you mobo. It could be that windows has found the harddrive but the drive is not formated so you will unable to see it in my computer.

Go to disk manager and format the drive and you should be good to go

Thanks networkguy,

The thing is that I plugged the SATA hard drive on the SATA RAID1 on my mother board rather than on just the normal SATA1 port :)

Now everything is working find and windows found the SATA and is working just like an IDE would :)
