I've can't recall this kind of rebate happening before. :)
Are there many people here who bought an iPod in 2004?

A tax refund for iPod owners in Canada

The year-long levy on digital music players imposed by the Copyright Board of Canada came to an end in December 2004. If you happened to buy an iPod in Canada during that year that the tax was in effect, however, you paid an extra $15-$25 for it. Apple Canada would like to see to it that you get a refund.

"Apple is pleased that the Supreme Court of Canada let stand a lower court ruling that blank media levies on iPods are invalid, and will shortly announce a claims process so consumers can request a refund for the levies they paid," the company said in a release.

Further details on how to apply for the refund are expected soon.

wonder if Apple will own up to the fact that it charged not 25 dollars, but *30* dollars more...

Hey, they have to process the money to the Government.

Now they have to give it back.

This costs somebody.

And why am I defending them?????

5 bucks a pop???

and people think the cpcc takes too much.
No one seemed to think 5 dollars a shot was too much.

I wonder how many people will claim the refund when it is announced.
