?Konfabulator

I found this program 10MG in add/remove programs, I cannot find it anywhere else in the computer and I don't know how it got there, I never installed it, when I click on remove, it says "KONFABULATOR" is on a network resource that is unavailable, it also says Ayhoo something, does anybody know how to remove this from the computer, I also tried the web site, with no luck

Konfabulator is a background application which is used to put what's called Widgets on your desktop. They are GUI based, often contact servers to obtain information, and generally add functionality/additional features to a system. For example there's many which display the weather forecast/specific time, pull down menus, etc.

To remove the program, you probably have to disable it first. Go into msconfig (start menu -> run -> msconfig), click on the startup tab and disable konfabulator.

Luckily, it is not spyware.

Thanks AMD, I checked msconfig/start menu, the is no "Konfabulator" in the start menu, it is only in Control Panel/add/remove programs and I have tried a lot of things to remove it, but get the same answer every time: "it is on a network resource that is unavailable", in their Web site/forum they won't tell you have to remove it, only how to reinstall it.

have you tried booting in safe-mode and deleting the process or from add/remove from there. Give it a shot, you wont loose anything.

Thanks, Tried to remove in Safe Mode, still no luck, I talked to a Comp. Tech. here in London, he told me I might have to reformat and reinstall, in order to remove this program, I hope he is not right.

Well. "Yahoo" gives away Konfabulator now. Take a look there and see if that helps.

Are you running XP? If so, are you also running the Microsoft Anti-Spyware program? If not, and Yahoo doesn't help, run MS Anti-Spy and se if that helps rid you of this nasty annoyance you are getting.

It's not spyware.

Reinstall it and then uninstall properly. (do a web search to find the download)

I still have konfabulator in my comp. Does anybody know how I can find the file, the only place in the comp. I see it, is in control panel/add/remove, I looked in regedit there is nothing there, I cannot find a way to delete it or remove from my comp. I went to Konfabulator web site/forum other people have the same problem, the answer from konfabulator is"we are not allowed to give out this info", Yahoo/help sent an email saying "we don't know how to fix it, it is still new", I won't comment on these answers.
My spy program and firewall blocked "Konfabulator" if they are trying to collect info, then perhaps Yahoo bought it for that reason. If anybody knows how to find the file, please let me know, thank you.
