Anyone interested ..or know of someone who might want them

Nat King Cole (Christmas)
Luciano Pavarotti (Christmas)

Consider the Salvation Army.
If we were closer I would take Nat in a heart-beat.

You can.
There are hardware/software solutions for this task.
It just takes the will, very little money, but a lot of time.

Mouse is right, I know a few people who have converted there old LP's, very time consuming though.
Ah, Nat King Cole. I grew up listening to all that music. My Mom played it all the time.
Ramblin' Rose, Ramblin' Rose, How I Love You, Know One Knows..
I have all my Mom's old records. Totally unplayable, but too many memory's to part with. They were part of her. Good luck finding them a good home.
I have put lots of LPs on disc. If it's good music it's worth the time it takes.

Use Audacity free software.
Connect speaker output to sound input of computer
Record.
Audacity can convert to MP3 for you or use your CD burner software to convert to CD format.
Do this a fair bit myself.

Really?? I would have thought the output voltage too high.
Did you mean an RCA output, like TAPE??

Same here Neal....
My folks listened to Nat King Cole, Jerry Vale, Al Martino, Tony Bennett, Jim Reeves, and my mother's favourite was Engelbert Humperdink.
She also loved opera which is when I usually left the room lol.
Like you, Nat was my favourite and I still listen to him to this day. What an incredible voice. I particularly love his Christmas songs.
When my Mom was in her mid to late 70's I managed to get seats for Perry Como playing at the O'Keefe Centre. I called her and asked her if she would like to go out for dinner.
the show was to be a surprise. I suggested she wear something nice and she replied I always wear something nice! OK after dinner at her favourite restaurant, Steak and Burger (My Mom had simple tastes and very little income) I turned south on the Don Valley Parkway. She hated the highway and asked where we were going. I said "The Italian Barber" is in town and we are going to see him. She cried from Shepard Avenue all the way to the O'Keefe. We had great seats. Centre Isle, about 10 rows from the stage. My frail Mom sang every word of every song and even corrected Mr. Como when he made the odd boo boo. Mom made excuses for him, "as 'he' was getting on you know".
Great stuff and great memories. Sorry for drifting the thread off topic.

That's a touching memory Neal. One which you'll treasure forever.
Reminds me of the day when my parents allowed me (after much begging) to go see Led Zeppelin at Maple Leaf Gardens when I was 15. The only proviso was that my older brother go with me. He wasn't a Zep fan at the time but I convinced him to go anyway. This was in 1971 and it was the very first concert I ever attended. I'll never forget that evening. I thought I had died and gone to heaven :)

For some special moments the best possible recording media is your memory.....enjoy the replays.
Re Led Zepplin,I saw them at the Kitchener Auditorium in the Fall of 1969.....2nd row middle seats. Wow. I taped the show on a Sony cassette recorder and enjoyed it for many years, but somehow managed to lose it but the memory is still there ........as is the hearing loss.

It would be too much and yes it must be an RCA output , normally tape . The record player does not have the power alone so you have to go through a pre amp like a receiver.
Recorded my whole collection of LP's a few years ago and then went and did the same with the cassettes. All my music is on my computer or in my 200 cd player. Worth every minute of record time and with todays software you can even clean up the pops and hiss.

So it sounds like the copies you made are as good or better than the LP quality is that right?

The quality of the sound depends on the quality of the record needle and the state of the album or the quality of the heads on the cassette deck. I have a pretty decent setup and the recordings came out good enough to enjoy, but the software was not as good a few years ago compared to what is out there now. Either that or I couldn't find it/ afford it.
Unlike copying a cd to your hard drive or for your system and , on random play, you get the songs that you might not care for, you can record all the songs or your choice of a few from each album/tape. With that you can create assorted discs for whatever you listen with.
