I saw something on TV last night on the news that just about had me go ape sh**. So they are talking about how oil is going up, yada yada. Then they of course say we have it good because the cost compared to other countries is lower, example UK. 1.95L, BUT then they show the price of gas in Venezuela a L, it's only 0.17L !!!!! Yes you heard right, seventeen!! DAMN! It's almost free.

Just a warning. People with a weak heart shouldn't been looking at the following link. Some of the prices might trigger off something.

Let's keep the prices going up. Lets see the prices here to be equal to Europe's prices.

I had to get $30 last night, @ $.969.

My only solace was that 94 octane was selling for $1.103. :)

Just think of what the Europeans pay for gas. ;)

Especially high-compression ones, like a Beemer X5. :eri:

Also dont forget turbocharged engines require 92 octane! so you are already paying $1.x for a L

A Porsche Cayenne passed me last night, and I almost left the road in laughter.

Well, if he has that much money to spend on a car like this, then no questions on him being able to pay for gas!

Paid 99.9 the other day in Barrie. The signs couldn't take anything over that .. LOL

Down to 92.4 today.

Looked at that list Digiital, guess CNN doesn't know that Canada exists. After all, we are only one of the world's largest oil producers!

BTW, that's .12 US per US GALLON, not Litre, in Venezula.

With today's Barrie prices, that is $2.95 US ($3.57 CDN) for a US size gallon here. ($4.29 CDN for 1 CDN gallon). I know, lots of converting, but that is how it works out.

I filled up the other day at a Shell, the sign said 97.6, but I ride a bike and have a small tank, so I usually don't care. The thing is, when I actually got to the pump, it said 86.3. So I don't really know what was up with that. Guess they forgot to change the sign.

I think gas stations on the HWY 400 series (400,401) should put on fixed prices. If you are travelling, you will be stuck to pay $.99 for gas but if you are in Toronto you will pay $0.92. so moral of my point, HWY stations take advantage of drivers and that is pure theft IMO!

That list is alittle out of date as well, but last night on the news they did say 0.17L. I wasn't refering to that link

What? Take advantage of "no choice" travellars, no, don't say it is ... LOL.

It is all a "coincidence", if you listen to our fearless leaders.

Called "supply and demand".

12 pack bottled water - Zehrs (Loblaws, No Frills, Valu-Mart, or whatever), is $1.99 - but in Sauble Beach at Valu-Mart it is $2.99. Whatever the market will bear.

I filled up last night at 0.90. I have been waiting for it to go a little lower but of course it never did. A gentleman was infront of me filling up his Durango...$73!!!!! Glad I don't drive an SUV anymore.

The same answer as before. If you can afford a Hummer H2 then gas is no problem!

The sad reality of that is that many are leases for business purposes.

Guess who gets the extra costs added to their products and services as a result???

Yep, that's right.

Almost everybody here lives and works in the city. No exuse there. When I'm in Europe, you think I'll be staying in one country?? No way, I'll be visiting other countries as well.

There's absolutely no excuse for gas prices not to match European prices.

What is so funny?? Just because North America has been able to buy cheap gas and the rest of the world gets gouged, and now the tables are turning. Higher gas prices means more efficient engines and cars that are better made and not heavy.

I'll be moving to Europe anyways so the gas prices don't bother me at all. If they had some proper engines over here and cars that don't weigh like a whale, then we might have something good on our hands.

/rant The thing that really really frosts my cookies is the fact that we have lots of oil in Canada but we're stuck paying OPEC prices because Alberta is happily screwing the rest of us. /end rant

well if priceskeep going up as seems to be the latest trend, then eventually it wil be more cost effective to refine our own oil here in canada......as wel all know canada sits on more oil then the middle east has. might happen.....

The old argument about stability in global oil prices is bunk, as witnessed by the massive differences in retaih prices in all the countries involved. When you can go from .12/gallon up to $4 something a gallon, then that argument goes out the window. Taxes, or not, factored-in, governments don't really care about stability and each country should seek it's own "comfort level" without so-called oil cartel ups and downs.

We are in the .99/L right across Barrie now, and I am sure the only thing stopping the magical $1 mark is the inability for signage to display it.

Bogie

Between eastern and western Canada, we have lots of oil production capabilities, but our prices are based on "global" markets. Bull ..... it's called "supply and demand". How far will the consumer be pushed before they finally break? How overflowing will the gov't coffers be filled with oil taxes before "enough is enough"? How soon will all this finally trigger that over-due recession?

Who friggin cares what everyone else in the world is paying. Are their salaries and the value of their dollar relavent to what they pay??? Lets worry about our own market not everyone else's. If everyone carpooled, rode a bike, took public transport or walked there would be less to complain about. I watch all of you.....lined up like cattle everytime the gas drops from 95 to 89.9 You sit there and wait for TWENTY MINUTES...idling and wasting gas to save what.....2 to 3 DOLLARS??? So 20 mins of your time and 20 mins of idle (which is a complete waste) not to mention the damage to the air quality......is that worth less than 2 to 3 dollars??? DO THE MATH....5 cents a litre times 50 litres (average cars tank) is what...a whole $2.50. It is time people that y'all took control of your lives instead of being ruled by our gas companies. And if you think I am lying....remember this comment next time you sit at the gas station for 20 mins......to save $2.50 Be come a Prosumer.....not a Consumer!!!

Everytime some jerkoff broker decides to blabber his mouth regarding oil, fear of this and that and blah blah blah.........it ALWAYS goes up.

(on a side note)
Electricity is the same. I do not know of a product or service where the company tells you "YOU need to consume less!!!" (besides water....but no rain means lower levels) Well I got news for you.....start providing exactly what we need and don't tell ME, the consumer, what to do. Catch up to the population. They knew it was coming and they did nothing to increase power vs population....

....can u imagine if this were the same for the internet....that ALL ISP told their consumers to use less......tell me how that would work out.

But everyone complains complains complains about soaring gas prices....and yet no one does anything about it.
