Got a chance to quickly try out EA's newest NFS racer, and though I had some high hopes in Carbon, the demo left me a little disappointed. The autosculpting feature for car customization was pretty cool, but still felt a little too restrictive in terms of customizing. The controls were a bit too sluggish to the point of seeming almost unresponsive. And what the heck happened to the framerate? There is some noticeable slow down during certain parts of the races. The drift racing feature, although great is all too easy now seeing as the game already starts your drift for you (no need to hit the e-brake to start it).

With a little over a month from release day, it may be very well clear that this is what the game will be like on launch. Gonna wait for official reviews to come in before I pony any dough for this one. Either way, if you got Live, grab it and check it out!!!

I played it earlier and to no suprise the game is terrible. The drifting is far too simplistic and really not fun at all.

The customization is pretty neat but not enough to save the game. The graphics were a step below NFS:MW.

I do like that you can now have 8 player races instead of the 4 from the previous game.
I thought that the chase racing was ok but also not enough to save the game.

In all, the NFS series is a joke. It went downhill when the Underground games came out. The last two games that were good were High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed.

NFS needs to go back to its roots or it will keep going downhill and from where it stands there really isnt any room for the game to go lower.

NFS High Stakes was the penultimate IMO.
