This is so very annoying.
Why does it do it & how do I stop it???
This has happened twice now since I got it with 2 different versions.

Only got one profile, I'm the only one that touches this pc.
It's done this with the previous version & the latest version.
What folder is the profile in?

I have heard of this many times but to this day my ff 0.9 has never lost them.
and I am sorry I really have never seen an answer that has worked in every
situation.

my suggestion is back them up.

Ok there are backups in the profile folder but how do I get it back into ff?
I tried copy/pasting the bookmarks.html file to where the main one is but didn't work.

If you have a backup of it, just import it... copy / paste won't do it.

Open your bookmark manager and find the import... I think it's under tools

Sorry, not using FF here so I can't check.

Thats odd cause my friend only uses his pc and for some reason he had 4 profiles. But i deleted all the profiles and he started over again.

There is a firefox extension that automatically backs up your bookmarks (and a bunch of other stuff). It creates a backup every time yiou shut down firefox.

Go to ...

In Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxxx.default

In Windows 98/ME:
C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxxx.default

Locating the bookmarks.bak file in the same Profile folder and then rename it to bookmarks.html. ( Make sure Firefox is not running)

In the future, use the Bookmark Backup extension.
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=13&hl=bookmark+backup extension.

I am using it but I have not needed to replace my bookmarks yet. More of a precaution really. I have used the backup to import my bookmarks to another machine and it's been fine.
