Well, I'll be doing my G2 Road Test soon...

I think I'm pretty much ready, gotten a lot of practice, but just wondering if there are any tips out there that I'd might be able to use?

Yeah when you leave your parking spot, put your signal on before you move, if ya don't... automatic failure... at least it was when I got my licence 20 some odd years ago.

Always look over your shoulder, before changing lanes. (Blind Spot)
Occasionally check your mirrors.
Before proceeding through an intersection, green light or not, check for oncomming traffic, (glance left and right to make sure other traffic is stopped before proceeding).

never pick you nose you will fail.

ok not the best advice.

don't speed.

now thats good advice.

oh I see you knew that um you don't want to know how many fail due to
speeding. if its unmarked its 50 if its a school its 40 if its construction its
the speed posted . speed fails like nothing els.

good luck you'll do ok:)

Don't lift your foot when switching from the gas to the break.
You're supposed to keep your heel planted while switching from break to gas and visa versa

Don't slow down when merging, signal and speed up.

you've gotta try and hit the highway speed limit before you get off of the on ramp thing...
Sorry for lack of better words, but I'm tired :)

keep your buffer zones on the highway that means your following distance
and the distance you are being followed. the catch 22 about this is
you may be told to speed up if a big truck is riding you too close even
if you are at the limit. it is unsafe to drive slower than the flow of traffic
and if you don't speed up they can fail you. it is unsafe to speed so you will
fail. if you find yourself in this situation explain to the instructor that you need
to increase the safety zone and must speed up key here is to hope they understand.

the thing that gets me about this is they say to you they will not tell you
to do anything unsafe or illegal.

I've been told to that you should stick to the right lane when ever you can. (normal 4 lane road - not highway). My ex-gf got points removed for that one.

Like you said Ken, you won't know if you failed the highway part until you get back to the exam building. Some examiners want you to go 100 and others will say flow of traffic. Problem is, they won't tell you how they mark. Utter stupidity.

Relax. Either you know the rules or you don't. It won't do any good to be so uptight you make mistakes. Get a good rest the night before. Be calm, cool, and in control! Good luck.

My only piece of advice:

If the speed limit is 50 KM/h then drive 50 KH/h. They failed me because I went 52 KM/h in a 50 KM/h zone. Now maybe only this instructor is picky but if it helps you pass then I want to pass this info on to you.

You go EXACTLY 50 KM/h and cars behind you get so close because you're not going fast enough for them it will make you big time nervous but stick to your guns and stay the limit an you'll pass for sure.
