My adult son just got a new Motorola V551 cell phone. He wants to put more games & ringtones on it, but I couldn't find a USB connector on the phone. How can he add games or ringtones? He doen't have any internet access. I have Bell Sympatico High Speed at my house.

Well I don't have that phone, but with my Samsung phone I think X426. WHen I purchased a ringtone or image, they automatically send it to your phone. No need for any cords, just go to your service provider and buy the image from there site. You might need to sign in to your online account to do it though like Telus, I had to setup my personal online account.
Hope this helps.

There are two ways to do this. The V551 supports blue tooth, so your son could go any buy a blue tooth dongle, he will need xp or 2000, plug the blue tooth dongle into the pc and establish a link betwen the computer and the phone. The other way is to simply buy a cable that plugs into the phone and a usb port on the pc. He will have to buy the Motorolla phone tools software which costs about $50 I believe, regardless of which way he connects the phone to the pc.

I have Motorola V551 and bought usb cable at Rogers Wireless store for $50. USB connects to bottom of the phone and comes with Mobile Phone Tools (crappy) has some bugs. You can use any mp3, midi, ect for ringtones. Games? I don't know. Overall its pretty cool.

Just noticed the thread. I have a V551. I purchased the bluetooth dongle with software and about 100 java games from eBay for $15CND. Look for seller with the name of "moby-vision" or "mobyvision". She's from Pickering and has tons of cell phone accessories for a good price. Even got the leather belt clip for $8. :)
