Just curious how high everyone got too...?
Since switching to Core Duo 2 I have now broken 32K
Also got 23sec in Superpi 1M
Also got my 6300 running nicely at 2.5GHz without any voltage increases..
I wonder how high it would go before needing some voltage increase??

The best I got was 31.6K with my x800xt pe

I currently have a fireGL 3200 on my core duo (yohan) intel system so it doesn't score too well.

well up to 34K now
and a 19sec Superpi 1M
I did not have my ram running 1:1 now it is and now i'm at 2800MHz rock stable with no voltage increases at all:)

Nice. I ran my yonah core duo at 1.6ghz with a ATI FireGL 3200 and got 17,500 :)

Hey buddy what's an ATI FireGL card??
Is'nt that a server/business type card?
Not really a gaming card I mean?
Anyway I should have my 8800GTX or GTS today sometime..:nne:
Never before has there been such a videocard leap in Technology so great..
Oh and i'm trading my e6300 for a 6600 no cost to me..:)
SO I'm thinking 3.2-3.5GHz on air I hope..:hst:

Sold my old rig, and built me a new one... just got it up and running tonight. Had some SATA issues that were known with the 680i chipset, but EVGA's great support team worked with NVIDIA to release a Beta BIOS that seemed to fix it all up! Anway, initial results for 3dMark 06.... everything stock. Will post some more 3dmarks at stock soon! Just wanted to see what this baby can do. Will also post OC'd 3dMarks after some more tweaking... Rig in sig.
Jamie was right.... the newer hardware performance is great!

I don't have 3DMark 2K1 anymore, but my scores on subsequent versions are below in my sig, along with my rig specs. (3DMark 05 is not included because for some reason it crashed when I upgraded to the 7950)

Thnx Jamie!!! Yeah, so far I'm lovin the new system. Do you already have Vista Installed or are you waiting for yours to ship??? I have no idea whether it is available now or not!!!. I'll post some pics and some more benchies of my rig when I get home from work!!! As far as Big $$$ goes.. alot of the hardware in my new rig is recycled from my old one (only sold the tower, cpu, ram, vidcards. Kept everything else). Used the money I made to get my hands on the new parts.... cant' remember how much money actually came out of my wallet but it wasn't much.

Very first attempt to see what this badboy cpu can do... decided to play it crazy and up the first OC 1 whole GHz instead of incrementally (I know... crazy me!!!!). Forgive the Vcore as it's reported as false (actual vcore on BIOS is 1.36v... that's some bad Vdroop action going on here). Only thing I OC'd this time round was the CPU... left the memory at 1066 and vidcard stock (considering 3Dmark2001 SE is based more on CPU power than video anyway).

Oops!!! Well, my Ram is designed to run at 1066 (PC8500) so I guess that's where the 8:11 divider comes into play. Heh, it actually downclocked it to 524 instead of 533 (If I set it to stock, it sets my ram divider to 1:2, or 266Mhz:533Mhz, I think). I guess I could downclock my ram to PC6400 (800Mhz), but that would defeat the purpose of owning PC8500's in a way I guess...
This CPU OC is not definitive of a stable system as I have yet to run Orthos for 12-24 hours (I'm gonna start now) but I figured it passed 3Dmark01 and 06 with no problems that I'd post results. Bios temps hover around 29-30C idle, Vcore=1.37, which is the only voltage I upped in the BIOS (VDimm stock at 2.2volts). The only gripe thus far is that the current BIOS (P23Beta2) has serious Vdroop issues where it undervolts the setting you actually want. Here's some more results of my first OC of the E6600...

Ugh your 3DMark2001 scores are insane. I just recently upgraded to a 7900GTO (core speed of a 7900GTX, memory speed of a 7900GT) and it's clear that my CPU is holding my score back...going from a 6800GT to the 7900GTO gained me just 2000 points (24k to 26k). Crappy processor FTL...your Core 2 Duos at 3+ GHz are at least 50% faster than my gimpy A64 at 2.4GHz.
I do a lot better in 3DMark05 and 3DMark06 though (10k and 5k respectively), since they're far more GPU-limited than 3DMark2001.

Yeah I have several auctions for both the 3800+ and Opteron 165 tracked on Ebay, waiting to pounce on a good deal. I know C2D is by far the better option, but the 3800+/165 will get me dual core for under $200, whereas for C2D I'd be paying at least $200 for the CPU (E6300), plus another chunk of change for a mobo and RAM. If I don't find a good deal on a socket 939 dual core CPU within a month I may be able to save enough to just get my foot in the door of the C2D train though...just maybe.

Well, after some more tweaking, it appears that my cpu was only stable at 3440Mhz if I upped the Vcore to 1.41V. It was able to do Orthos and dual Prime95 for more than 24hrs, but the temps were a little too high for my liking (45C idle, 58C-60C full load), so I dropped it to 3360Mhz and Vcore to 1.36 (39C idle, 54C full load). I also upped my 8800GTX to match that of EVGA's newest OC'd 8800GTX, the KO series (http://www.evga.com/articles/338.asp), upping the gpu/mem from 575Mhz/1800Mhz, to 626Mhz/2000Mhz. I actually had my vcard topping out stable at 660/2050 but I don't like leaving it at it's max so I just downed the numbers to match that of the KO series.
Anyway, here are the new numbers with 3dmark settings left at stock. It's amazing that going from 3440 to 3360 on the cpu clock drops your score 1000 marks!!!

I'm pretty sure my processor is the culprit. It's probably not as good an overclocker as I had hoped.... a 40Mhz drop ain't tha bad, although 3DMark01SE begs to differ.
My rig just refused to run Go-Orthos or dual Prime95 for more than a 3-4 hours. It always seemed to either reboot or just hang. My games, and benchmarks would run totally fine. Even my video encoding went on without a hitch, but Orthos and Prime showed that at 100% load on each core for more than 3-4 hours would toast my OS.
I have heard that the newer ASUS boards can tolerate higher FSB's than most other boards, but I'm pretty sure it's not my board that's the problem.

Dont mean to ressurect an old thread, but I just got my new 8800GT installed and I ran 3DMark 2001 and I got 33162, which is worse then the 38000 I got with my old ATI 1950XT, any ideas what is going on? I uninstalled all the ATI drivers before I put the new card in and I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers. I ran 3DMark 2006 and my score was 11181, does that sound right? could be that 3DMark 2001 doesn't support the features of the 8800GT

But it does for the 1950XT? The only difference between the two cards, other then their capabilities, is that the 8800 is a directx 10 card and the 1950xt is not.
