View Full Version : Nero express 6
How can I finalize a cdrw with this program, I don't see an option anywhere when burning. What I end up with is a cdrw that can only be read on my dvd burner(lg 4163b). It happens if I'm burn photos,mp3's, documents whatever.
currently using Nero Express 6 v6.6.0.16

Do you have "Allow files to be added later (multisession disc)" checked?

Nero Express does not have an option to finalize disks, it is the default action. You should only be able to not have a disk finalized by selcting that you require a multisession disk (as detailed by mtlhunter).
If this is not the case, I presume that there must be someting wrong with your particular installation - you could try to uninstall and re-install Nero Express to see if it fixes it - but apart from that - I don't have any other suggestions.

Been down that road to many times, it's possible the cdrw's are crap. They are Bright 1-4X picked up 10 of them for $4

It should be checked to allow multi's. George. :)

The problem is the burned cdrw's won't play in anything but my dvd burner, whether it's finalized or not. Actually it doesn't even show that a disc is in the cdrom The CDR's I've burned work fine.

Go to walmart and get brand name cdrws maybe that should help? If not you can just return them tell them there faulty or something. Thats what my sister did. Dont know where she got the idea CDRW's play in her small stereo. I know its possible but getting the right stereo.
yeah it must be the cdrw's

If they are only 1-4 speed, they are probably the original standard for CD-RW.
If this is the case, they will not be HIGH, or ULTRA speed disks, and your drive is an Ultra Speed one (it works with high speed disks too - I know because I have just fitted one - ironically I haven't got any Ultra speed ones yet!).
If I understand correctly, the original disks/drives are not 100% compatible with the later disks/drives - this could be the source of your problem.
Then this would be not a case of duff disks, simply the wrong ones!
