I just finished building a new computer, With a PCI express videocard, Powered it up and the display doesnt come on, Its only 1 PCI videocard, Their was an Ez-Plug thing on the motherboard, but i looked in the manual and it said if you uses 2 VGA cards which i dont. What would be the problem, everything else powers up fine.

The System is brand new, just got all the parts today, Its a 485 Watt PSU. Its an Asus EN6600 Silencer 256 mb PCI-EXPRESS. The motherboard is an Asus p5wd2 premium, and the case i dont think has a internal speaker (for the beeping). When it was being put together, their was this white plug, that was 8 pins if you removed a cover on one half, but i only had a 4 and 6 pin connectors from the PSU so i just plugged back in the cap and put in the 4 pin.

You need to plug in the PC-Speaker included with the screws provided, and listen for a beep code. Anything could be wrong; you can start by reseating everything.

Both power plugs must be in.

Some motherboards will not boot or apply power to the processor unless the CPU cooler is plugged in, so check that as well.

If you still can't get it going, take everything out and test it on an anti-static bag just in case something's getting shorted out.

Does the video card fan spin when power is applied?
